The reason for recording the inscriptions at Honley Cemetery was the possibility of its disappearance. The Church felt unable to maintain it due to its size and also the dangerous condition of certain areas, it is a large cemetery for a village (township) being almost 4 acres and contains a mortuary chapel (with pews) which is very rare.

A record of the memorial inscriptions in the churchyard of All Saints church, Viney Hill, Gloucestershire. The survey was performed by members of the Forest of Dean Branch of the Gloucestershire Family History Society. The members are all volunteers. Whilst visiting Kiltubrid Churchyard to record and photograph the gravestone of an ancestor, I noticed that there were relatively few memorials.
As the church is relatively isolated and only used for Divine Worship once a year, I decided to record all legible inscriptions.
Often there is a plan with the survey, which shows the locations of the graves. Surveys may also include the inscriptions on the parish war memorial and on memorials inside the church.
Most of the surveys are available on microfilm.
